No Surprises Act
It applies to most types of health insurance, and protects you from unexpected out-of-network medical bills from:
- Emergency room visits
- Non-emergency care related to a visit to an in-network hospital, hospital outpatient department, or ambulatory surgical center
- Air ambulance services
Usually, if you don’t have or use health insurance, providers must give you a good faith estimate of what your care will cost. You get the estimate when you schedule care in advance or if you ask for one. You may be able to dispute your bill if it’s at least $400 more than the estimate.
You can submit a complaint if you believe that your facility, provider, or insurer isn’t following these rules.

Out-of-Network Clients
I do not accept insurance directly. This means I am an out-of-network provider. Some PPO insurances will reimburse 60-80% of out-of-network claims. I have partnered with Nirvana to support clients in navigating insurance and reimbursement processes. Please use the reimbursement calculator above to get an estimate of what services will cost when submitting claims to your insurance for reimbursement. I provide monthly superbills that can be submitted to insurances. Nirvana provides client information and support for navigating and submitting claims specific to different insurers, easing the burden for clients.

3rd Party Insurance Platform (Alma)
When longer-term services are warranted and/or cost is prohibitive, I use a third party (Alma) to support clients in accessing services through insurance. I do not have a direct relationship with insurances. I am a provider through Alma. Alma handles all of the insurance and claim navigation. The cost to clients depends on your insurance policy- co-pays, deductibles, etc. Alma provides information and support to help you understand what your portion/payment will be. Alma collects all payments directly from you.

Gratis & Sliding Scale
I offer ongoing gratis & sliding scale sessions for clients who are ready and motivated to do this type of work. I love to work with people who are wanting to make a change.
